Kyle Mountsier: 0:05Hi, I'm Cindy here at Tour's Ford with Tammy Jacobs, the marketing director for two rivers Ford Tammy, thanks for spending a little time with us.
Tammy Jacobs: 0:13
Absolutely. Thanks for coming.
Kyle Mountsier: 0:15
Yeah, absolutely. All right. So all things marketing, which is sometimes like the most highlighted or underserved role in the dealership, so it's all of both right. So how long have you been doing that for for the store?
Tammy Jacobs: 0:29
So I have been at the store full time doing their marketing since 2018.
Kyle Mountsier: 0:34
All right. So what's the most interesting thing because you probably haven't always done dealership? What's the most interesting thing that you found? As you've been engaging with the dealership life and the dealership world and retail auto?
Tammy Jacobs: 0:46
Well, I think this dealership is different. So I think I would have a different answer if I were anywhere else. But they do so much in the community and with marketing. I mean, we've teamed up with St.Jude and giving away a car with a dream home and things like that. So it's it's been similar to other clients that I've worked with in the past because of what they do in the community. They're the uncarved dealer car dealer to reverse this.
Kyle Mountsier: 1:13
You guys got a tagline that the uncarved dealer car dealer, that's so cool. What's like, the thing that you're working on right now? That's like the project that you're after in your world?
Tammy Jacobs: 1:24
Okay, well, the bane of my existence is tick tock. I hate it. I hate tick tock, I hate doing videos. To this this year is our 40th year anniversary. So we've geared a lot of our marketing around that. And we're doing just a lot of image marketing because of that. You know, like everything,we have layers, we do the Google AdWords, we you know, we're in with the now buyers, but we really wanted to get the message out that we've been here for 40years, we are part of the community we're locally owned. So that's, that's kind of my, my Hill to die on this year.
Kyle Mountsier: 2:03
Well, and it's one thing to have, like 40years, been here had a building, right. But as we've learned,we've been here for a couple hours today that goes much deeper. You You've been introducing us to people that basically go back to having been worked here at that time. How does that change the culture of a store?
Tammy Jacobs: 2:23
Yeah, it's amazing. Um, you know, we are selling to people's grandkids that came in here in 1983. It's amazing. And it's a great culture. I mean, I'm just sidenote, I was at a dinner party with some girlfriends last night, they were all bitching about their jobs. And they were all complaining about their jobs. And they everyone said, but who likes their job? And I just raised my hand, because I love mine. So it the culture here really is amazing. And the people are great.
Kyle Mountsier: 2:55
What would you say to others that are maybe questioning like, Hey, should I get into auto? Is there a potential place for me? What would you encourage them with?
Tammy Jacobs: 3:02
Do you know what you're always going to need in the world? Transportation? So absolutely, you know, you're not always going to need a lawyer. But you're going to need to get somewhere. So I would say it is a recession proof and fantastic place to work where you can actually be very successful.
Kyle Mountsier: 3:22
