Paul Daly: 0:00So we are here at Beaver, Toyota and coming Georgia. And we just wrapped shooting episode two of more than cars. So we thought featuring someone who's gonna be in the episode that America doesn't know yet, but they're about to want to introduce you to SET set. Welcome to the show.

Sat Labord: 0:16

Thank you so much.I'm happy to be here.

Paul Daly: 0:20

We're happy to have you here. You're like, what are we supposed to say to that? So tell us a little bit about how you got into the car business how you ended up in this industry to begin with I

Sat Labord: 0:30

moved in, in United States, I was working at the food place, actually a kitchen helper, but I met somebody took me to a Toyota dealership, she was showing me around. She was a salesperson. And I met the general manager. And he basically hired me on the spot, which was amazing. I couldn't believe it at that time. And I started out as a greeter in this department. And over time I've learned and I wanted to improve myself and grow, learn about vehicles. And that's how I started my journey back in 2004.

Paul Daly: 1:08

And we didn't tell you this before we started, but you don't have to worry about looking at the camera. Oh, can you just look at it. But you know what? Most of the people just listen to the show. Okay, sure. So you're a woman in the auto industry. And one of the things we're going to highlight on the show is a pretty incredible culture that the women have here at the store, tell us a little bit about what it's like.

Sat Labord: 1:29

So we actually have a lot of female advisors and cells and every department we have strong, young ladies and it's season right? Season advisors and females. So we do actually created this program for females unite united and have a strong relationship and motivate and empower our young ladies that are in the men industry. So we can help them to grow in and we can do anything the men can do, you know, the businesses, environment, everything is changing. So our program is basically helping young ladies to make the difference in the industry.

Kyle Mountsier: 2:14

I would say that if anyone walked around to the ship, they wouldn't think oh,this is just a men's industry, right? Like it is multicultural, like everybody is welcome here and and is cared for here, both on the customer side. And on the employee side. How have you seen like the culture and camaraderie, give you guys the ability to more care for customers and not just for each other?

Sat Labord: 2:41

Well, believe it or not, the culture that we created is the energy and atmosphere that we have at our dealership makes a huge difference. When somebody walks in. And everybody's happy. That's the first thing we hear is customers like, I just see everybody's happy, smiling. And that's what we want. And it makes you feel comfortable at our dealership not just the dealership, you come into Beaver, beaver family, you are part of the family. So that's how we treat our customers. And that's how our will we strive and then try to take it to the next level. This is not a car dealership, and seeing customers feel more comfortable when they see females actually do what the man can do. And they do trust us more to be honest with you,

Kyle Mountsier: 3:24

I believe. Paul,I mean, we've we've just seen countless times that there are dealerships across the country that say the same thing. It's like, hey, look, this is a big building. And we just with simple cars, we happen to sell the service cars, and it's the way that we connect with customers. And there's a business side of this, with the culture and the people behind is so much more valuable. And that's what we're trying to highlight with everything we're doing, especially with more than cars. What I loved is, is we were in telling stories and you could you could like the emotion, whether it be joy or sorrow, or just this raw emotion of the people around you was very apparent that like these people care, and that care is communicated to the customer as well. When when you think of caring for customers, what are some of the cool things that you guys are doing right now as a store to uniquely care for customers on the other side.

Sat Labord: 4:27

Just up for customers, we do get involved a lot of community works as well because without the community, our dealership or not our business will actually run. So it's important to let the community know what we're doing and helping them and then let them know that we're here for them. And it's not just about selling or you know, make profit. It's not and we have to be part of the community and helping them and just, you know, enjoy our life. A feeling to have something to be thankful. And then when I go home in my car I think about reflect like, what are the good things I've done today? What what really made me feel good. If I can make somebody happy little small things if we can fix it and that person is super happy and then leave like we love you guys, that just gives you the satisfaction that what you do that we care about people. So this is what the difference that our dealership the beaver culture is. Well, and I'm proud to be happy to be part of this beautiful team.

Kyle Mountsier: 5:35

Yes, good.

Paul Daly: 5:36

I love that we'll set you are definitely one of the people that is like leading the charge and changing and elevating the culture and perception in this industry and certainly in the store. And this community. Thanks for giving us a few minutes of your time right now. And then earlier as well.

Sat Labord: 5:51

Thank you so much.Thank you for being here.

Paul Daly: 5:55

We hope that sends you in to your weekend with a little bit of purpose ready to go bit of inspiration because you can go out now and just take some of this mindset forward and go serve some people, serve your coworkers serve the people that come in and out the doors and serve your family to go I'll see you tomorrow.
