Tesla is scrapping its ultrasonic sensors in favor of "Tesla Vision" cameras. While the sensors currently assist with parking assistance and collision avoidance systems, Tesla has said they would play an essential role in Full Self-Driving.
The company will remove the sensors from all its models, temporarily deactivating some assisted features.
Current FSD beta testing is being performed using the vision-based camera system that will replace the USS system.
