Russia's biggest automaker, AvtoVAZ, has approved a $585M investment program for 2023.
In the months following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Renault sold its majority stake in the company for one rouble - which is about 1.5 cents in USD.
More recently, Nissan sold its assets in the country for 1 euro.
Following a year of layoffs and cut production goals, AvtoVAZ produced about 200K vehicles. This company's board of directors hopes the investment will double that in 2023.
