We would never share our Netflix password (so this story definitely doesn't apply to us), but if you do, your nefarious days are numbered. The streaming giant announced yesterday their plans to crack down on password sharing. The company has previously estimated more than 100M households sharing accounts, which significantly impacts their bottom line.
Targeted. Netflix plans to roll out the new restrictions in Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, and Spain to gather customer feedback before applying them globally this Spring. The plan requires account holders to report their primary location with allowance for only two additional users who don't live in the same household. More users can be added to the account for a fee.
