LAS VEGAS (Feb. 1, 2024) — Pennsylvania Automotive Association (PAA) President John Devlin was elected the 2024 chairman of the Automotive Trade Association Executives (ATAE) at the ATAE annual winter meeting in Las Vegas.
Devlin has served in his role as president of PAA since January 2011 and has been with the organization for more than 40 years. Following graduation from The Pennsylvania State University, with a degree in accounting and finance, Devlin joined PAA as manager of the insurance department.
“I am excited to lead our fantastic group of state and metro auto dealer association executives in the coming year,” said Devlin. “For 41 years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the dealers of Pennsylvania and I’ve seen a lot of changes in the auto retail industry during that time. It’s the continuous changes, innovation and new challenges that I am excited to confront in the year ahead.”
As head of PAA, Devlin protects and promotes the interests of the nearly 1,000 franchised new-car and truck dealers in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with lawmakers and regulatory agencies, overseeing a staff of 70 employees.
“ATAE is an important partner in supporting dealers with all facets of their business at the local, state and national level,” said ATAE President Jennifer Colman. “With John as chairman, we will all benefit from his many years of issue expertise as well as his strong background in association management and governance. We are delighted to have him at the helm.”
Devlin is a native of Camp Hill, Penn.; he and his wife Patricia have two adult sons.
Members of ATAE, which represents more than 100 state and metro new-car and commercial truck dealer associations in the U.S. and Canada, work together on legislative and regulatory challenges facing dealers and support their respective members with educational and training programs, auto shows, conferences and other business services.
