Gas Prices Dropping, So Is Gas Demand?

Gas prices are back down to a national average of $4.35 per gallon after peaking at $5.02 in June. While efforts to bring gas prices down are surely doing something (right?), AAA says the main factor bringing the price down is lower demand. Data shows Americans are using 800k barrels less per day than one year ago, similar to consumption numbers from the height of pandemic restrictions.
