Fox Dealer of Pasadena employs nearly 90 people, and of those half are people of color and a third are female. CEO, GianCarlo Alabastro, says the company never set out to create a diverse or representative team, but only to hire the most qualified people based on resume, but most importantly: Chemistry and Fit. By design, over 35% of his workforce comes from employee referrals, so a lot of the expansion has more to do with the networks and groups teammates are in than existing methods for finding and choosing candidates.
Win-Win. Alabastro says the benefit of this has been the formation of a team anybody can see themselves on and the freedom to invite people into the company to develop into the leaders Giancarlo and his team need because as he says "We believe you're(teammates) what makes us awesome."
