Everybody hates phishing. Nefarious emails, texts, or calls are so common that we regard most unexpected communication with suspicion by default. Most people have little to fear from these hackers. DeFinance Capital founder Arthur Cheong is not most people.
It could have been worse. A malicious link in an email compromised Arthur's wallet and drained $1.7M in cryptocurrency and NFTs. A second wallet lost $720,000 of the firm's Lido tokens. The Defiance Capital team realized the hack and were able to transfer $13.3M of the firm's remaining Lido tokens out before hackers were able to do more harm.
General rule of thumb: don’t click any link you didn’t ask for.
