Since the NCAA enacted its NIL policy in 2021, many student-athletes have collaborated with hometown brands. Chastang Ford in Houston, TX, has announced two such collaborations with local University of Houston football stars Clayton Tune and Donavan Mutin. Already living and attending college in Texas, Tune and Mutin are local as they come making them truly fitting first NIL ambassadors, according to Chasting's GM and COO, Patrick Chastang.
Already stars, but still rising.
Self-professed Ford guy Clayton Tune was recently named the top quarterback in Texas and is currently on the short list to win the Davey O-Brien Award, which goes to the best college quarterback in the nation. Quite a feat considering the state is home to 12 FBS teams - the most of any single state in the US. He said he loves that Chastang is a good family. That they are a Ford brand dealership is a bonus he specifically mentioned.
Donavan Mutin moved to Houston after Hurricane Katrina uprooted his family. He says collaborating with Chastang was an easy decision because they are a family business with family values. His accomplishments and honors are only exceeded by the number of schools he had to turn down before enrolling with the University of Houston.
